Aaron MacLean Podcast: Michael Doran on Is Hamas Winning?
My comments:
Difficult to listen to for all of its false assumptions and endless parenthetical detours. Reminiscent of child-speak.
Summary:
We're (US are) world's good guys who need to punch up bullies now and again to keep the world free and democratic.
Iranians are winning or could win because we're not punching them up sufficiently.
We're the world's preeminent force, assumedly good and righteous at whatever we want. We have no need to calculate correlation of forces and means. We just need to do it, whatever we want.
We are not required to anticipate second, third, and fourth order effects of our actions. In our foreign policy, it is not true that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Anyway, who needs to care about that?
Unspoken:
Our citizens are unwilling to do military service. Our military formations are designed to kick around peoples who can't kick back and now also to proselytize our woke values.
Our industrial base can't make national sovereignty, only very narrow private profit.
Our logistics cannot support war overseas against anyone who can shoot back.
Israelis struggle to get us to nuke Iran ASAP.
Iran's capabilities and capacities in re Hormuz, Israel, carrier strike groups, and US bases in MENA are ignored and disparaged. Or, tough for Americans posted there, they picked the wrong profession.
The Israel-Zionist lobby in D.C., New York, and London.
Our supper sits burned up in the oven even while we discuss quenching our hunger.
Conclusion:
Great work, guys. When do you report to school?
