NATO’s MICIMATT oligarchs are fakakta. They realize they have at their command neither industrial base nor populations willing and able to tear up Russia. They also realize they do not want them damn Rooskies messing up their mansions. This leaves them with one corridor down which to march, that of reason: retreat, abjure the plan to rape Russia and F the EU (Vicki Nuland), and renounce the desire to stockpile ever more money by looting Mother Russia and whomever else comes available. They won't do it willingly, but they'll do it.
