It is Good Friday in The Latin Church. This day we abandon our individual egos to crucifixion -- Why have You forsaken me? -- and welcome God's inscrutable omniscience in their place -- Into Your Hands I commend My Spirit.
Like Christmas -- burdensome taxation, foreign rule, enumeration, birth in the rough, slaughter of innocents -- Good Friday memorializes the unavoidable tragedies of life, to include suffering and death, in quantities and qualities we can neither foresee nor elude. These come to all of us in due course, when the times are fulfilled for their occurrence.
Easter and its correlate, The Transfiguration, come after death of the ego and renunciation of all it demands and holds dear. God does not abandon those who entrust care for their careers to Him no matter what transpires, regardless of what they undergo. His Gentle Sweetness is always as close as the interior of one's own heart, ever present there for happy and healthy bathing in.
Hmmm. All very well for Maria Zakharova - her church is alive and well. But western Christianity has sold out to the Liberal consensus - politically correct and politically Neo-Liberal.
And with the added handicap that Christianity is at base an incoherent, anti-spiritual and reactionary faith, like its totalitarian Muslim and fascist Jewish partners.
Time for a new spiritual religious innovation to replace these dinosaurs.
